What makes you go on an audition? What gives you hope and strength to keep on hitting that daily audition month after month, year after year? You never know which one will be THE one, the acting job of your life, fast-forwarding your career into super-stardom. Most can't handle it, so enter that next audition living for your dream.
An audition is not the easiest thing to go through. Many people crack under the pressure. It's not pretty. Like watching the Iron-Man competition and that last contestant is crawling towards the finish line, their own fluids flowing as they hit the pavement, spirit crushed, tears streaming down their face, paramedics in a frenzy. Your next audition does not have to be so horrendous. You will keep it together under the bright lights and brisk orders being barked by an ill-mannered casting director. Be strong.
Going on an audition is like going fishing. You have to prepare, prepare, prepare, and relax to be successful, and you may go a few times and come home empty-handed, but you keep going anyway. Many people treat an audition like going to the store, but YOU are the product, and you have to arm yourself with tools like a memorized poem, visualization techniques, and a down-to-earth attitude that will you apart from the rest of the hopefuls attending the audition.
